Sorry I have been so quiet lately...

Ya, lately I don't really have anything to blog about so have been largely quiet. Over the weekend, I attended Jo's fifth uncle's funeral. The poor man died after a fateful jog in the neighbourhood where he apparently collapsed after the activity. Quite sad lah, considering I have seen him right before me weeks before as I was telling some of you guys. It seemed that he has some problems with High Blood Pressure and that may have been the cause of his demise. Being at the funeral and not being able to do alot most of the time except talking to Jo, it makes me wonder about the unpredictability of life and what Mona said about doing the stuff that we want to do right away and having no regrets.

That's why I don't have savings, says she.

Well, it's easy to understand concept but relatively tough to practice since we are so caught up with everyday life, work and personal issues that very often we forget what it means to live until the day Death stares at us straight in the face and asks us what have we done. Sad to say, most of us would probably be wont of an answer.

Read Starix's blog about her grandmother and her failure to visit the old lady before she passed away, it moved me a little because it made me feel better that at least I was at my Dad's side when he left. Small consolation maybe but it's better than nothing. You know what, for the first time, I went up to my mum and told her, "I am glad you are alive," to her bewilderment of course. But I just have to say it before I left the house because God knows whether that will be the last time I see her for the day, possibly forever. People who know me will probably know that normally I am not really on talking terms with my mum as she drives me abso-freaking-lutely mad sometimes but somehow, something came over me that day on that moment to say what I said that was probably never going to be said to her in my normal moments (if you get what I mean coz we aren't exactly mushy people, haha), aw man, you all should have seen the look on her face when I went over to pat her on the shoulder and said what I said above. I bet she was thinking, "I think he is going to ask me a favor again." Hahaha.

Traditional Chinese may go, "choy!" but I just want to be thankful of every minute that my family and friends and my love is by my side. They may not be perfect and we may have our conflicts, but undeniably they are the ones who have impact my life in one way or another, big or small and it stands to reason that at the end of the day I will go before God and say that I am glad to have them even though I may be harboring angry thoughts at them.

That's also the reason why I am such a prude when it comes to conflicts. Jo, if you are reading this, I want to tell you that this is the reason why I am always seemingly want to get a particular quarrel or argument out of our way that it feels like I am rushing to get it over with. This is because I fear that we will part with unpleasant words and hurtful statements and that could be the last things we say to each other. Morbid right? But I beg to differ, some of you may understand this more than the others, I dunno.

Alright man, wake up from your sordid thought, maybe it's the weather, it's storming as I am typing this...

Fire Emblem is a good game!! Plus so many things coming up!!!

Those who have played handheld games (read: GBAs and whatnots) would have heard of the Fire Emblem series. Currently, I am playing the latest game of the franchise on my GBA for work purposes. I must say this is a very good game! And you will know that this is a title that you will be going through again and again when the gameplay is utterly simple to pick up and yet, deep enough to sustain long time interest.

Sorry about the blur screen capture of a cavalry charging into a pikeman...Hiya!!

Come to think of it, this is the hallmark of great games that have entertained Man for a long time. Think of stuff like Chess and Snake and Ladders. They are very easy to learn but their mechanics within the game is deep. Ok, maybe not Snake and Ladders, how about Monopoly? Heck, there's even an official Monopoly tournament for crying out loud. And mind you, people actually need to dress up to play in such a tournament. Amazing, I kid you not.

The table for the final four...serious stuff! Note also the dollar bills on the floor and on the ceiling, the competitors would wish they were real...

And why am I talking about games all of the sudden? Well, for some of you who know me closely, I am a big fan of Magic: the Gathering and come June, there is the third set of the Kamigawa block which will conclude the Japanese themed card set's story. People who read my posts will remember one post that I showed pictures of the cards in the Betrayers of Kamigawa set long before the set was released. Well, now, Wizards of the Coast (the producers of the card game) has decided to control how much information is leaked out and thus, previews of the set is coming out really slowly, but I am already liking the set from what little information I could gather on it. This is going to be a great conclusion to a very flavorful set. June 3rd come quick.

The Saviors will come on June 3rd! Card floppers rejoice!

Then there's the impending release of Star Wars: Episode III!! OMG, I wanna see!! I wanna see!! But I am afraid I can only watch it after I come back from Redang but oh well, the good thing is I don't have to compete with boatloads of people coz by then, those who want to see it would have already watched it.

The shadowy form of Darth Vader beckons...millions lured to the Dark Side

Oh ya, did I mention that July will be a magical month? Coz Harry potter and the Half-Blood Prnce comes out in that month! I am thinking of pre-ordering it though. But that means collecting it on 7.01am on July 16 if I am not wrong. It's been a long time and I miss Hogwarts, man, this is the school that I wish was real coz I can learn all that I am so interested in from there; from Potion making to Charms, it would be cool too to carry a wand made out of Phoenix tail feathers and zip around town on a Nimbus 2000 broomstick. Take that, Mini Cooper!

Lucky buggers, I WANT THOSE BROOMS!!!

Sunny Beaches Here I Come!!!!

yay, finally, it's confirmed. I am going to Redang come May 19 (setting off on the night of May 18 though). It's a long awaited trip and I think I need it. Been feeling the strain and drain at work and could hardly keep up the pace of the working world. Although the trip would set me back by 300 over bucks, I say, heck, the money can be earned back but not the chance to experience some happy times and sights that I want to see.

Maybe I am just a bloody slacker lah but oh what the hell, I wouldn't mind lying on soft, white, powdery sand and doing nothing; thinking nothing. But then again, who would mind??

Somehow I can imagine my toes being licked by the rolling waves...MMmmmm

Right now, I can picture the clear, blue waters with the promise of coral sightings and late night shine of tiki lamps, wahahaha. I am such a sucker for these things. Redang here I come!!!

Round round get around
I get around
Yeah
Get around round round I get around
I get around
Get around round round I get around
From town to town
Get around round round I get around

Get around round round I get around

I'm gettin' bugged driving up and down the same old strip
I gotta find a new place where the kids are hip

My buddies and me are getting real well known
Yeah, the bad guys know us and they leave us alone

I get around
Get around round round I get around
From town to town
Get around round round I get around
I'm a real cool head
Get around round round I get around
I'm makin' real good bread
Get around round round I get around
I get around
Round
Get around round round oooo
Wah wa ooo
Wah wa ooo
Wah wa ooo

We always take my car cause it's never been beat
And we've never missed yet with the girls we meet

None of the guys go steady cause it wouldn't be right
To leave their best girl home now on Saturday night

I get around
Get around round round I get around
From town to town
Get around round round I get around
I'm a real cool head
Get around round round I get around
I'm makin' real good bread
Get around round round I get around
I get around
Round
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah

Round round get around
I get around
Yeah
Get around round round I get around
Get around round round I get around
Wah wa ooo
Get around round round I get around
Oooo ooo ooo
Get around round round I get around
Ahh ooo ooo
Get around round round I get around
Ahh ooo ooo
Get around round round I get around
Ahh ooo ooo
